Students continued learning the form and structure of music by using non-traditional musical instruments.
This week we explored different timbres of sound on plastic buckets, and made a Theme and Variations piece on Tuna Cans, and we rehearsed a piece of music using only plastic cups. Some classes watched the first episode of the musical Oklahoma, in preparation for our musicals unit in the winter. Between now and March, students will see Oklahoma and West Side Story.
Students learned to play a major scale on the ukelele and continued to create music using the computer program called Mixcraft.
