Movie Music Mixcraft Project
1. Choose to work alone or with a partner. Get a Dell computer that is assigned to you already.
2. View the movie clips shared with you on Google Drive, check your ryesd email for a link.
Choose a clip that no one else in the class is working with. Download it to your Dell hard drive.
3. Open a new file in Mixcraft. Click Create Song with Virtual Instruments.
Click SAVE AS and name your file.
4. Add the video file. Click VIDEO ADD VIDEO
My Computer, OS:C Users, your name, downloads,
and double click on the movie file. Ctrl S to save.
5 Drag the movie file to the start, zero seconds, of the file. Ctrl S
6 Click VIDEO, and open a viewing window so you can see the movie clip. Grab the edges of the viewing box to reduce its size and drag it to the lower right hand corner of the screen so you can see what you are doing.
7. Trim the movie clip to one minute, whatever your favorite section is. Ctrl S
8. Plug in the MIDI controller keyboards to the Dells and ADD Virtual Instrument Track. Ctrl S
Assign various sounds to various Virtual instrument tracks to create the sound effects.
Use at least 5, five, sound effects that we have learned in class.
9. Play the various sound effects at the right spots. Drag the music clips around so they start and stop at the right places. Ctrl S
Use the loops in the sound library to add ostinatos and sound f/x as well.
10. Click Save or use the shortcut Ctrl S after every edit of the file. Not kidding, every time. This program is handling lots of data and requires a bulk of RAM, it will crash from time to time. Save after every edit.
11. Add new dialogue to the characters on the screen if they are talking. Click on another audio track, arm it for recording, and record the dialogue.
12. Ask for help, get another student or the teacher to see/hear your file and make suggestions.
13. When finished, Click file, mix down to WMV.
14. Once your file is mixed to a WMV file, upload the file to your drive and share it with me and your partner.
15. On a later date, the class will present their movies to each other.
